Manufacturing Error?

I would have thought it was a problem with my own slightly different sized feet but as I also received my Adeline shoes at the same time and they fit perfectly. I ordered a 9M, my normal size. Disappointed as I have to go through the cost and hassle of sending them back and won't receive a replacement at the same price
